De Chirico, the founder of metaphysical painting, had a great impact on the surrealism movement which occurred later. It is the human body with an egg-shaped head, spindle-shaped legs and spiral arms that his pictures and sculptures depict consistently. This piece also combines those motifs just like him. Having been born and brought up in Greece, he is good at the motif "Greek Myth" of this piece.
